Earlier this week a TV team from Swedish national television SVT paid a visit to our studio. It’s a Swedish culture show called Sverige! (Eng: Sweden!) and features pretty much anything cultural that happens here. Right now they are collecting new stuff for the next season of the show, and this time they want to know more about our studio and how we work when we make our Swedish manga Kick Off.
Ulf and KÃ¥re from the TV team asked us many interesting questions. They were genuinly interested in Japanese popular culture themselves. KÃ¥re, for example, likes Shiina Ringo a lot (just like Soya and Yosh). That’s cool!
Kajfa and Yosh smiling awkwardly. Sometimes it’s difficult to have a normal conversation in front of a camera.
This is how it looked like when Yosh, Soya and DoraJen showed how the work is done in the studio.
Totoro also helped! He acted as atripod for astrong lamp. He carried out his task without flaw, even though he was only a toilet paper carrier to begin with…
A couple of words
The recording went well and we are really curious how it will turn out in the end. As we wrote earlier the TV team was collecting material to the next season of Sverige!, which means the episode with us will be aired in late summer or beginning of autumn. We will of course inform you at our website when it’s time!
Thanks
to the TV team Ulf och KÃ¥re and Sverige!. The guys were really fun to talk to, both when camera rolled and when it was off.
A couple of days ago we reported that Kick Off 2 had climed up to 2nd best selling manga of Adlibris’ book store in cathegory Comics and Manga. But luckily we were contacted by Shivi who browsed to the cathegory Manga alone, and there you could find Kick Off 2 as the NUMBER ONE BEST SELLING MANGA (20th april 2009)! HORRAY! Thank you Shivi for telling us. Last time we celebrated with ice cream, this time it should be at least a cake!
The greatest love from a fan!!! Kick Off also has a Caramell video now, just like all the other popular manga and anime, thanks to the talented Fia. Enjoy!
Caramelldansen is an Internet phenomenon that has taken manga and anime fans worldwide with storm. Originally it’s a name of a song by the Swedish eurodisco group Caramell, but nowadays Caramelldansen is videos of happy dancing anime and manga characters made by fans. The phenomenon got it’s boom in 2007 and nowadays there are more than 16 000 Caramelldansen videos on YouTube featuring the most popular characters from different manga and anime!
We could have only dreamt of having a Caramelldansen video made for us. It’s a fantastic tribute to Kick Off. Thank you so much Fia!
