Yokaj illustrates Dogge Doggelito's book!

We are very proud to announce that we have made the cover and book illustrations to the childrens' book Izzy och gänget written by Swedish hip hop artist Dogge Doggelito. The book will be published in March 2011 by Bonnier Carlsen.

Kick Off takes a break after our publisher B. Wahlströms' decision to discontinue our award winning series. Yokaj Studio will look for new ways to allow the series to live on. We’ll look for new ways to make the series live on. In the meantime we will keep develop and challenge ourselves with new exciting projects. Read more in our blog..

Kick Off 2 is "Best comic 2009"!

During the previous year, kids and teens all over Sweden have been acting as a book jury to find the best books released during year 2009. In the comic cathegory they have voted the second book in our manga series Kick Off as "Best comic 2009"! This means Kick Off has been awarded in this category two years in a row! This is incredible! Thanks everyone for your votes and support! We will write a blog entry about the award ceremony later. Meanwhile you can check out the other winners of the other categories here

We are featured in Tivoli magazine!

Today is the release of the newest issue of Swedish children's comic magazine Tivoli, which is having a Japan theme this time. We have contributed to this issue with two pages from our instruction book Teckna lätt manga, which is sold out and out of print. If you are a reader of our manga Kick Off and likes the character Juan you might want to get your hands on this issue!

Yokaj Studio to UppCon

This Friday we are going to Sweden's biggest manga convention. We will be having a table among the other in market in Vaksala Torg. Please come by and say hi!

On Saturday and Sunday we will be holding two seminars about our work with our manga series Kick Off and our manga theater Meja i spökjägarnas sal.

It's Yokaj Studio's 6 years anniversary today

It's true! The oldest manga studio in Sweden turns six years old today. We would like to thank all our wonderful fans, readers and supporters for your love and support! We will keep working on fun projects and share them with you.

Fantastic reviews for Manga theater!

The manga theater play "Meja i spökjägarnas sal", which is collaboration between Yokaj Studio and Stockholm City Theater, has finally had its' premiere and will run until May! Swedish morning newspaper Svenska Dagbladet and evening paper Expressen wrote fantastic reviews after seeing the puppet show. Click on the links to read the articles (Swedish only). Place: "Meja i spökjägarnas sal" at Stockholm City Theater

The premiere of "Meja i spökjägarnas sal" is getting close! February 19th is marked on our calendars. Stockholm City Theater has released the tickets to the play which you can book here. The play will run until end of May. If you happen to be in Stockholm around that time, you might want to give it a try! This is the first time manga is made to theater in Sweden. The play is based on Yokaj Studio's award winning magna series Kick Off. Check our blog to see some sneak peek video and photos!

Kick Off 2 voted 2nd at Lärbro school!

Place: Lärbro school and library

Lärbro school at Gotland, Sweden, organized their own "Bokjury" in which they let the kids read all books released in 2009 for children and teens and vote their five favourite books. Our manga-series Kick Off was voted 2nd place! This is huge! Thank you very much Lärbro school! Read about it in our blog.

Kick Off 1 was voted "Best comic 2008" at national the Bokjury in which 42 000 children and teens participated.
